3.6 LED Wall

LED Walls are often used when planning a large display outdoors, or on the side of a tall building. To install an LED Wall, you need an LED display, LED controller to display video signal onto display, and power supply on top of the display structure.

You need to also consider the following elements when setting up an LED display.

  • Brightness: There are a wide range of LED display modules that support different brightness for either indoor or outdoor use. As a general rule, 1,000 nit ~ 2,500 nit is appropriate for indoors, and 4,000 nit ~ 7,000 nit for outdoors. High-brightness LED modules are relatively expensive.

  • Pitch: An LED wall is composed of light bulbs of the same distance and height. It means the smaller the LED pitch, the higher the resolution density. For example, an LED wall with 5mm pitch and 5m height will have vertical resolution of 1,000 (5*1=5,000), while a 10mm pitch LED wall with 5m height will have vertical resolution 500 (10*500=5,000).

LED walls support HDMI input, so you can easily connect with various SoundGraph solutions such as YouFrame Viewer and Social Media Viewer. You can also link a number of LED walls via connected wall and synchronize content playlist.

Below video shows how SoundGraph streamed social media board on an LED wall at Jisan Rock Festival 2016, and was awarded the Grand Prize for Private Advertising by the Korean Academy of OOH Advertising. As you can see in the video, we divided the square LED wall to display sponsored content, organizer’s instagram page, and visitor posts on instagram (hashtag) to increase engagement.
