Hello,
we have ordered 12 Soundgraph iMon VFD 5,25" Multimedia-Controller for testing a new prototyp of HPTC. 11 of these have PCB Version 1.0, one has 1.1. USB IDs of PCB Version 1.0 is Vendor 0x15C2 Device 0x0037 , USB ID of PCB Version 1.1 is Vendor 0x15c2 and Device 0x0044. We are using it with ASUS E45M1-I DELUXE. Our Problem is now that the BIOS hangs (Black screen) after a reboot of the system if the iMON VFD is connected. This happens 3 of 10 times with all Displays with PCB version 1.0. The one with PCB 1.1 survived more than 500 reboots without any Problems. So, an idea would be very appreciated! Last edited by certon; 03-29-2012 at 05:16 PM. |

no answer means no help. That's bad... |

Hi,
I'm having the same problem. There seem to be others reporting similar issues: http://www.soundgraph.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9650 http://www.soundgraph.com/forums/arc...hp/t-9495.html http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?...Language=en-us I really hope there will be a fix for this. It seems some people think it's an ASUS related problem, however, I have a new ASROCK main board, so it's not a brand issue. Regards, Frederik |

An update on my previous post: I disabled the legacy USB support in the BIOS and that seemed to do the trick on my board. Everythinh is functioning well now, with the VFD connected to the MOBO instead of the external USB connector.

I encountered the same Problem.
Motherboard: ASUS F1A75-V EVO No boot with plugged USB, display flickers with about 2Hz... No change between USB legacy/no legacy in BIOS. pulled the USB from the board -> normal boot. USB IDs of my PCB are Vendor 0x15C2 Device 0x0038 device type unknown So I was afraid that there is not enough current available via USB and so I tied GND and +5V of two USBs together. Result: no change, no boot. ![]() And now ![]() Answer from Soundgraph is still pending... Last edited by Ulli; 09-13-2012 at 06:13 AM. Reason: device IDs and type added |

I just bought Zalman HD160XT HTPC chassis and ASUS E45M1-I Deluxe mobo and it won't boot up if the touch screen is connected to USB port (on mb or external USB). Disabling legacy USB support does not help. Touch screen works ok if I boot up the machine so that USB is disconnected while booting up and then connect it after windows is running.
It would be nice to get this fixed. I read somewhere that installing old USB 1.1 hub in between the touchscreen and USB port would solve the problem but to me this is a workaround, not fixing the actual problem. |

What I forgot to write: I used to build a HTPC with a Silverstone Crown CW2 case WITHOUT touch screen.
Touch screen seems NOT to be the issue. |
