Which remotes can be used with iMON VFD?

Hi.

I have a Thermaltake Bach SX case, and I broke my remote (PAD) recently

Sadly, there's no shipment to Russia in your web shop, so I cannot buy it...
(Purchasing the locally available retail set just for the remote of it seems stupid)

So, the question is - can I use any other remote with the infrared receiver of the VFD? I mean physically? ('cos I have Ubuntu, not Windows and setting up software is my problem)

Dear vallhund,

iMON VFD can receive and work with iMON PAD, iMON Mini and Microsoft MCE (RC6) remote controller. In your case you can try for MCE remote which support Microsoft MCE RC6 Protocol.

Unfortunately, the MCE remote is out of production, and is not available for purchase either. Damn

What about the Xbox Universal Media Remote?

Please tell me it works with iMON IR receiver
(If it doesn't, I will have to buy a new iMON VFD+IR+Remote on ebay for $100, from which I only need the $15 worth remote).

Can't confirm but it should really the Xbox remote is most likely the very same as MCE RC6 remotes. It's just the one Microsoft standard.
