Hello,

I am using SoundGraph OEM Touch LCD product through a Luxa2 LM 200 Touch HTPC case.
I am not really using it as a HTPC case but as a pre-amplifier in my HIFI system: no dual screen, only the 7 inch LCD display as main screen.
I don't use FrontView and IMedian HD. I use Windows 7 media center.
I use Google screensaver (from Picasa) to display pictures when computer is idle. Unfortunately, pictures aspect ratio is not OK. In fact, the all Windows desktop aspect ratio is not ok.
The reason is simple : the LCD screen is a 800x480 (aspect ratio = 15/9), whereas Soundgraph micro-program resolutions are 800x600 or 1024x768 (aspect ration = OLD 4/3)
Only IMon softwares fix the ratio, that is not the good solution. The best solution would be to propose 15/9 resolutions (800x480, 1000x600) when we configure the display. By this way, all the environment would be displayed correctly.
When I had Windows Vista with a previous version of IMon softwares, with the NVIDIA control panel, I was able to create custom resolutions (1000x600), and everythings were OK. Now with 7 and the latest IMon software, I am not able to change the aspect ratio of the resolution.

Is it possible to improve the SoundGraph micro-program, and add to the list of supported resolutions, some 15/9 resolutions (1000x600 is very nice!)

Thanks

Fredouille:)

Dear fredouille,

iMON OEM TouchLCD product does not support wide resolution, but support only 4:3 resolution. And there's no micro-program update feature with this product. It means that this feature can not be applied to you even though we add it to To Do List and get it future.

Thanks a lot,
slash.kim

Thank you for your answer slash.kim,

but I am a little bit disappointed about the technology choices made by SoundGraph, to propose a wide LCD display with a RGB/Video converter that supports only 4:3...

I hope I will succeed by creating custom resolutions with my nvidia graphic board, to fix myself this strange limitation. Do you have any tips that could help me?

thank you

regards,

Fred

Dear Slash.Kim,

The solution was to uninstall IMON software/drivers, then to create the custom resolution with the NVIDIA control panel (1000x600, 60Hz, 32bit, progressive, automatic timings).
With this resolution, a circle is a circle, not an ellipse. No problem after re-installing IMON suite.

I don't agree with the fact you do not support other resolution than 800x600. You cannot impose this resolution that only works for 1 software. This product should be design to display any kind a software/OS...

I have the same problem her and am posting partly to keep the thread alive.

The software iMon (v7.6) supports only 4:3 ratios and yet the screens (in many products) ar 16:9 aspect. This seem daft and it is notable that even the software like front view has been designed to account for the distortion rather than have the aspet/resolution corrected. In fron view all circles have been vertically enlogated so as to appear as true circles when squished onto the non native aspec screens. How can this have made sense in the development.

It is notable that when gaming on my primary screen, the 7" touch screen often gets set to a true 16:9 distortion free resolution. This is obviously being controled ad a deeper level by the video card but it shows that 16:9 resolution ARE supported by the screen.

Has anyone found alternative software/drivers to run such screens? I would happily do without the whole iMon suite :(
