Hi,

I'm about to set up a new line of HTPCs for the company I work for and was happy to see the FingerVU 436. We have previously used Imon with a Moneaul 972/932 case, but I'd like to verify a few things before purchasing the FingerVU.

1) Is it possible to have FingerVU in constant Media View (Frontview similar mode) when Media Center is on (not running video, but just like IMon shows basic info etc...) and when media is played (music or video) it will jump into equalizer mode and also length of track etc?

2) Is it possible to start action in MCE on main display from the FingerVU? As in press icon for movie or soundtrack and MCE starts playing the music?

3) is it possible to swap easily fron Media View (frontview similar) to Icon view and then back again from the touch display?

4) In the past I've had problems with iMon internal unit having clashes with primary/secondary monitor when primary has not been on, meaning MCE and other software has "jumped" onto the 7" screen. Then you have to manually drag MCE onto the main display which has been tricky with customers. There has also been problems with resolution changes. The previous system had 7"
and 800x600 was recommended, however primary displays turning on and off could change this sometimes. Have these issues been resolved with this system being USB and not VGA driven solution?

5) is it possibe to purchase the FingerVU 436 as an OEM? Scaled off plastics? Or only the 706?

6) Can the plastic white or black cover for the FingerVU be removed easily if we would like to test the system internally? We are interested in incorporating this in a new HTPC case. Of course I understand the warranty will be void if this is done, but we haven't decided if the FingerVU will be interconnected with its plastic into the hull of the cover or completely integrated in the framework of the HTPC like an OEM

Many thanks for a quick reply

Dear robned,

You might want to use FingerUI as like FrontView of iMON. However, the current version of FingerUI does not support 'constant Media View', manual switching between 'Icon View' and 'Media View'. For the 'remote control' feature to control other application through touch screen, it will be added in near update.

The resolution of old iMON 7" LCD OEM was 800x600 and it is 4:3. And the one of FingerVU 436 is 480x272 and FingerVU 706 is 800x480. They are all wide screen resolution. And the resolution is fixed and not be changed through setting.
