Hi all,
First of all: your new forum looks very nice!
I recently got an update of the iMon software, and I was wondering if there is an option now to turn off the default messages on the display (eg time) through a call to the SG_VFD.dll, so I can display my own messages (again through SG_VFD.dll). I remember reading somewhere that there used to be such an option in the early days, but is has been removed a long time ago.
Is there any chance that such an option will be put in again?
And if not, is there an api-description for SG_VFD.dll? And is the interface of the dll different from version 7_20_0502 iMon/iMedian?
Thanks in advance

Dear doskabouter,
Thank you for visiting and using this new forum.
If you are running iMON VFD (OEM or Retail product), you could adjust the turn-off message in iMON Manager > iMON Utilities > FrontView > [Auto Mode] tab page. There's "Stand By Message" setting fields and if you change these fields you might see the messages through VFD display in S3/S4/S5 state.
Thanks,

That is not exactly what I want, I want to block all displayed messages from my own program, so I can put my messages on the display.
(I made a small audio player, which can be controlled with the remote control, and the VFD, so I don't have to turn on my monitor to change the songs)

Dear doskabouter,
You might request API for iMON display. Actually, we provided API for iMON VFD display, when we released iMON VFD first. However, there're something changes in both firmware and driver side of iMON VFD and more iMON display devices like iMON LCD and Touch LCD were released. And so currently the API does not work with current iMON display device.
We know there're many users request that we release this kind of API again and some 3rd party developers hack iMON display device because we have not released this kind of API. We'll add the API for iMON display to our To Do List.
Anyway, how about using iMEDIAN HD? During navigating/changing the song in iMEDIAN HD, iMON VFD shows the name of the song focused and there;s no need to turn on the monitor.
Thanks and best regards,

Thanks for adding the api to your todo list!
About iMEDIAN:
I will give it a try at some point, but my general experience is that most of the time, applications will do 95% of what I want, and in this case, making a mediaplayer which uses the vfd wasn't that hard, so for the time being, i think i will stick with my own player.

Dear doskabouter,
Thanks for your answer.
I don't know what the remained 5% is exactly, but iMEDIAN HD need to complete the 5% in order to make you use it.
Thanks and best regards,
