FingerVU 706 problems/questions

Hi,

I live in Poland and I am a new user of FingerVU 706. I've been using this devise for couple of days already and so far I have following questions regarding this product:

(My system is Windows 7 64bit Polish, FingerVU 1.63, iMON 7.90)

1. In FigerVU I can only delete tiles that I have created myself. I cannot delete any tile that were preinstalled (like "Demo Video" for example).
2. Is it possible to Play Internet radio in FingerVU? It seems there is no such a tile on the interface. The only way that I found to access Internet Radio is in iMEDIAN HD.
3. Changes made in iMON Manager do not affect FingerVU at all. For example I have removed all News Feeds in Option>News and I have defined my own feeds but in FingerVU there is no change. All preinstalled news feeds still remain there, I cannot remove them, and my customs feeds are not displayed. Also, I have removed cities and added some new in iMON Utilities>FrontView>City Information but there is no change in FingerVU and I cannot remove them when in FigerVU interface.
4. In FingerVU when I click Edit only Delete and Color options are accessible. The rest like Copy, Rename are greyed-out and inaccessible. Why?
5. In FingerUI Settings Version tile is greyed-out and inaccessible. Why?
6. In FingerVU Settings LCD Off, Brightness, Monitor Positon tiles are greyed-out and inaccessible. Why?
7. When playing music in FingerVU EQ tile is greyed-out and it is not possible to access sound equaliser. Why?
8. In iMON Manager Option>Webcasting>Genre I want to remove Korean music and add Polish music genre but I cannot do it because Add and Delete buttons are greyed-out and inaccessible.
9. When I play music CD in VingerVU is it possible that FingerVU would download CD information (artist, title, track titles etc.) from Internet (CDDB)?
10. I have my CDs collection archived to FLAC format but each CD is archived to single FLAC file with accompanying .CUE file with tracks info. Players like FOOBAR2000 read .CUE files without any problems so that I can choose and skip tracks within single FLAC file. But is it possible the same in FingerVU or iMEDIAN HD?

However, as you said, we have a plan to give this feature in FingerUI in future version.

These settings are for them. Because of remote controller feature, iMON Manager are needed. However, as you said, we also think it is useful if one can adjust settings of FingerUI in iMON Manager.

These features will be added in future release. In order to make users know that this kind of feature will be added, they are added in disabled status.

Sorry, it was my error. In fact CUE are played fine. I am happy now :)

All in all this is great hardware and it looks like development of software is going in the right direction. Thank you for your answers.

I just received my finger vu1016W. Great product but I have basically the same questions as Thomasz2D to customize HDFrame (how to remove preinstalled tiles, changes made in IMON Manager do not impact HDFrame......).
Slash.kim mentionned sofware updates that would adress these points. Are these updatse scheduled in a near future?

I would also like to know if HDFrame will be able to extract music from CDs or videos from DVDs to place them in my database.

Dear all,

The new software (Touch Frame + HD Frame) are replaced with the old one (FingerUI) for FingerVU hardware. The major changes from old to new one are; supporting full hd UI (it makes HD Frame can run into full hd TV screen using Direct3D feature and you could select media in FingerVU by touch and send it to TV to enjoy it) and distinguish Windows application control feature (Touch Frame) / and SG own features (HD Frame).

Regret to say, this major change took much time and not all features above are added;
1. delete pre-installed icon - not added. target is not fixed yet.
2. internet radio - already added to HD Frame.
3. using iMON Manager to manage RSS sites and internet radio setting of HD Frame - not added. will be added to HD Frame in April 2011.
4. copy / rename setting - not added. target is not fixed yet.
5. version info - version and update setting are already added to HD Frame.
6. lcd brightness - not added. will be added to next update of HD Frame / Touch Frame
6. lcd position - not added. target is not fixed yet.
7. music's eq setting - already added to HD Frame.
8. adjust the pre-installed radio station in iMON Manager - not added. target is not fixed yet.
9. cddb - not added but the feature to use image files from internet when playback music files is added to HD Frame.

And we will add 'the to do list of HD Frame / Touch Frame' thread to this forum for reference.
