Hello,

I have a SoundGraph VFD in my GreenPower HTPC case. I've installed the software using the original VFD controller for MCE CD (ver.3.81). Everything works alright after I start-up the HTPC. However, when I resume after the HTPC went into S3 sleep, the VFD remains off.
Only after I disconnect and re-connect the USB plug on the VFD, it will display information again.

I'm running Windows 7, 64 bit, on my HTPC. Under device manager I can see that the driver for "SG Remote Control Device (x64)" is version 6.0.1000.1.
I tried to upgrade the driver by installing newer iMon packages that I found in the forum and on the site. Installation works fine, but then I get a message that the installed hardware is not compatible with the software.
When I ran my HTPC on Windows XP I didn't have this problem.

Are there any tips and tricks for using my VFD and using S3 sleep under Windows 7?

Thanks

Dear pkubhv,

Regret to say, the installation file for iMON/iMEDIAN HD doesn’t support this VFD HW. This is a specific model and you have to install VFD Controller. This product is quite different with other OEM/ODM products.
The last version of VFD Controller may not work properly with Windows Vista and Windows 7. If you have any problem or request for this product, please contact with the Chassis manufacturer (GreenPower) directly.

Dear Johnny,

Thanks for your reply. I'll send GreenPower an e-mail.
Do you have any recommendations for hardware that would fit in the same slot in a HTPC case, is available on the market today and does come with proper Windows 7 drivers?

Thanks again,

Peter

Dear pkubhv,

Please check the following link.

Our ODM/OEM VFD may fit with VFD Controller. Please check the dimension of VFD. iMON/iMEDIAN HD support this HW in Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. And we’ve been and keep releasing update for iMON/iMEDIAN HD. And this product is temporary out of stock at our On-line shop. Please wait for a while.
