Today I received FingerVU 700M Flat Type and want to exchange it with the touch LCD in my Thermaltake DH-102.

Unfortunately, the connectors are somewhat different and there isn't any documentation coming with the new LCD, so I am pretty unsure how to manage the change.

Please find attached the connection diagram for the built-in LCD.

My major problems are:

Connector H1/H2 is missing completely which would mean that I can no longer attach the button board.
Connector E1, which is the USB connector, is a 5 pin connector actually whereas it seems to be only a 4 pin one on the new LCD - at least if I guess right what connector shall be used for this one.
Connector D1, which is the VGA connector, currently is a 10 pin one whereas the new LCD only has 9 pins. Besides the number of pins, size of the connector is different as well.

Can you give me some hints on the purpose of the different connectors on the 700M and how to get through the probs I am actually facing?

Shouldn't there be at least any technical documentation for all the connectors within the box. I actually do not have a clue where to get the appropriate plugs to maybe assemble the cables on my own but without a detailed documentation on the connectors this won't be possible at all which would mean that the LCD is completely useless. Could you please assist?

Thx,

Dear niteize,

Some cable connections are different between old one (iMON 7" Touch LCD OEM/ODM in Thermaltake DH-102) and new one (HTPC ODM/OEM FingerVU 700M).

1. Button board cable
The old one used 12-pin connector, while new one uses 4 pin connector. For this, you need to replace button board, too. The buttons layout and the function of the buttons are same.

2. USB cable
The old one used main VGA's D-sub connector for display, while new one uses USB display adapter. So, new one uses 2 internal USB ports. It means the new one uses 9-pin USB cable for 2-USB port. This cable should be included in the FingerVU 700M package. Is this cable missing?

3. D-Sub cable
The old one used main VGA's D-sub connector for display, while new one uses USB display adapter. So there's no D-Sub cable needed with new FingerVU 700M hardware.

4. ATX power extension cable
The old one used 24-4 pin cable, while new one uses 24-3 pin cable. Is this cable is included in the FingerVU 700M package?

In order to sort out the connection problem, could you please take a picture and attach the backside of FingerVU 700M?

Thanks a lot,

Dear slash.kim,

thanks a lot for your reply!

Please find a picture of the connectors of the 700M attached.

If I got you right, I will no longer need any of the cables currently attached to the old LCD. Instead, I will just have to use the cables that came with the 700M and do the following:

- Attach the 9pin cable to the connector in the upper left corner and to USB ports on the mainboard.
- Attach the ATX power extension cable to the 3pin connector and to the mainboard 24 pin ATX connector.

Did I get you right on this?

What are the other connectors for?

Thanks and regards

Dear niteize,

- Attach the 9pin cable to the connector in the upper left corner and to USB ports on the mainboard.
- Attach the ATX power extension cable to the 3pin connector and to the mainboard 24 pin ATX connector.

Did I get you right on this?

Yes, it's right.
Please refer the image file attached. (Original sized image (http://download.soundgraph.com/path/OEM/TT_DH_102_700M.jpg))
- The original cables can be used with the green boxed pins.
- The new cables included in the 'HTPC ODM/OEM FingerVU 700M' package needs to be used with red boxed pins.
- For Thermaltake DH-102 chassis, new BUTTON BOARD is needed in order to use 10 buttons on the front chassis. Orange colored box explains it.

Though without new BUTTON board, you could use 'HTPC ODM/OEM FingerVU 700M' except 10 buttons on the front chassis, if other cables are correctly connected.

Thanks a lot,

Where I can buy this 4-pin board?
Or how I can make it from old one?
