I'm using Windows 7 and want to connect with the iMon-VFD-Frontview panel. i have a Silverstone LC20s case with a display in front. i have installed the iMon driver and the display show all information correctly. But i have downloaded the iMon API and tried the DemoProject. I don't get a connection with iMon. The Demo Project says: "Fail to init iMon VFD. iMon H/W is NOT connected or iMon VFD is using VFD".
i tried it with exiting the iMON VFD-App and with disabeling the Frontview Panel in the app. But both didn't work. What have i to do to connect to the iMon Frontview display?

i hope someone can help me.

I had the exact same problem (running Vista 32bit here).

What I did to solve the problem was:
- updated to the newest version of iMON software
- closed the iMON tray icon (the round thingy with the black center)
- ran "msconfig" and prevented iMON tray icon from starting
- rebooted
- when computer had finished booting and I was on the desktop, I disconnected iMON VFD's USB cable
- waited couple of seconds, then reconnected iMON VFD's USB cable
- VFD works!

Some of those steps might be unneccessary, but that's how I got it to function. I use my own program to update VFD and now it works perfectly, even after reboots (no need to disconnect/reconnect the VFD anymore).

Before the above actions my application just stated that it can't talk to VFD like it's not there. I don't remember what API call it was that checks the VFD connection but I guess it's exactly same as what the Demo Project uses.

i tried it exactly like you said. And i tried it with reinstall iMon, but doesn't work too :(
Maybe it's because win7?

Does someone has another solution?

Dear IceFire,

iMON VFD API supports only the old type of HW that doesn’t use HID driver.
The later HW using HID driver can’t work with iMON VFD API.

This issue is already added in our “To Do List”.
But currently we don’t have any fixed schedule for updating this API.

ok thanks.
i will wait for an update and i hope i won't wait too long :)

why can't you write a new library for the API. iMon Manager works with the new HW perfectly, so the source is already developed, or not? i can't imagine, that it will need so much time.
