I hope with the new forum.... all the bad software update on slowness will also be left behind with the old forum.

I seriously hope to see better MediaHD tho so far have been pretty happy with it.
Except on the ease of configuration of codec. Codec configuration in MediaHD still a pain.

Suggest on the following improvement.

1. Codec Configuration outside of MediaHD interface (a Wizard or utility)
2. Onetime setting for All User .... I have 3 in the PC and I have to go thru the same pain 3 times!!!!

3. play ISO off from MediaHD...

Dear lorddraco,

From now, some of SoundGraph staffs who takes charge of iMON and iMEDIAN HD development will join this new forum directly. And I hope that we could provide a better service to customers.

We will consider the external codec configuration setting utility seriously on the future version. For the codec playback issue, do you have any difficulty to watch video files using our internal codec? After the last version update on May 2009, our internal codec supports widely the recent media encoding formats. In our test lab, we tested our internal decoder with different video graphic cards as like nVIDIA, ATI and Intel internal graphic cards. We need some performance tuning for Intel internal graphic core but DxVA H/W acceleration works well with nVIDIA and ATI. If you have any difficulty to playback the video files, please let us know the details about the files and your systems.

For the setting backup, we will update this to the FAQ first. How to backup your current setting and restore it to the other PC. Finally, we will add new feature to make backup the setting files and restore it to the other PC. I expect that this could be possible with the new version for Windows 7.

the following issue you suggest, I am sorry that I could not understand it clearly, could you explain it in detail?

3. play ISO off from MediaHD...

Thanks...

Some words about internal decoders. I watch some xvid files with internal decoders and they looks ugly. When i watch it in The KMPlayer with it internal decoder (xvid core) the picture is greate. So i reconfigure iMedianHD to use external xvid decoder - and video starts to look more nicely ^^ . Its about internal decoders.

Dear ShIvADeSt,

Could you tell me more detail about the video file you tested? If you see the difference with our internal decoder with KMP's, it sounds strange. If you could help, we can test it at our side.

Thanks...

dk,

I think that lorddraco, in question 3: play ISO off from MediaHD... Means he would like a way to mount and play DVDs, that have been ripped to ISO formatted files, from within iMedian HD. Either iMedian would need to understand the ISO image format or, as some other products do, it would need to call another application to mount the image as a virtual disk, then iMedian would need to start DVD playback on that virtual drive.

For ShIvADeSt, we would need to understand what if any post processing may be in use on KMP's codec, or whatever codec that iMedian uses. Also we would need to look at the XviD flags on the file such as quarter pixels or other more esoteric options which may not be fully implemented in whatever codecs iMedian uses.

I would suggest that most people install ffdshow and then tell iMedian to use the system default codec, this is what I did *when* I used iMedian. But iMedian did not work as well as I would like so I moved to another application and simply make use of the iMon Remote in that app now.

I look forward to seeing how the support model at SoundGraph improves, being as I am in technical support as well and know how hard it can be but, have also been underwhelmed by the SoundGraph support team that shows up on the forums.

Dear crlorentzen,

Thanks for comments. For the DVD ripped ISO file playback issue, I think that we made a plan for it. As you might know we can make a ISO file from CD or DVD and it might be the media files but it also can be a data files. In this case, we cannot put the ISO file to our media library because it could be not a media files. So what we planned is that we put the sub menu under CD/DVD, named ISO or so...and people can nevigate the ISO file using media explorer by themselves.

Slash// Could you explain more details about this and updates it to our To Do List?

For the codec issues, we are trying to find out what makes this issue when you using our internal codecs. When we have a solution, we also update it to our to do list. We also supports to assign the system default codec in the current version according to the encoder type. You can set it on the following menu.

Settings/Audio/Video/A/V Filter Control/Video Decoder

I think that this setting is working and good for advance user as like you. As you might know the n.o 1 reason and value of our internal decoder is that how can we support one time installation for the starters. Of course, we continuously trying to our decoder could support the diffrent media types better.

Please try to use the setting of system default codec on iMEDIAN HD and be back to use it. :)

Thanks and regards...

Dear crlorentzen,

For the DVD ripped ISO file playback, we plan to add to this feature as like following;

At the main menu, if user selects "CD/DVD" menu, "DVD ISO" menu will be shown as sub menu with other physical CD/DVD drivers. If user selects the "DVD ISO" menu, user can start navigating to find the .iso file via Media Explore UI. If user finally select the .iso file, iMEDIAN HD will do playback DVD in ISO file. All DVD related features as like DVD menu navigation and language selection will be support as well.

This feature was already added to our To Do List. You might find it in [Release Target] Aug. 30, 2009 section's (2) [New Feature] The playback DVD iso file will be supported.

Thanks and best regards,

Dear Raney...

Your issue is different with this thread and how about you make a new post with the details of your situation. If iMEDIAN HD cause some problem when making your audio database, you can check the folders carefully and try to find a file cause some problem. I am sorry for this inconvenience, but I suspect some of your audio files might have a wrong format of ID3 tags.

Thanks

Dear DK,
Sorry for the wrong thread, as I was not aware.
Actually I would like to make u notice that iMedian old version (supplied with product) works very much fine with database updation but the moment I update it to latest version it crashes while song file updation. I've also tried with fresh download of iMedian latest version.
I've also checked the id3 tags of a few files and made their separate folder and asked iMedian to update them, still iMedian crashed.
So certainly the problem is with software.
Kindly help.

xVid decoder have no postprocessing options. The only option in KMPlayer i used is bicubic (or something like it) resizing of picture. Coz video was 720*576, but i have HDready TV. And i need to resize for full screen. I didnt install ffdshow, coz i have problem with it. So i use only xVid for xvid divx videos, coreAvc for AVC videos. If i dont forget - will get matrix that used in problem movie, but as i remembered - all xvid films when i used internal decoder look more ugly than when i use external original xvid decoder. DxVA is disabled, all other options for video is by default.
