With the latest auto update of iMON /iMEDIAN HD, I cannot retreive City information (weather) to display on a FrontView.

I have tried to select couple of different cities of Europe (Balkan region - Belgrade, Zagreb, Skopje), and I always get "City Info Not Availible".

I was looking at the imon.ini file and i see that url for weather info starts with http://www.msnbc.com/, and when I try to navigate to that URL in IE8 I get "500 Internal server error", so mey be that is a source of a problem....

Is there a way to solve this issue (different URL or something) ?

Kind regards,
Nenad Radosavljevic

Weather info still doesn't update for certain cities even with newest Oct 5 release of software. City is Belgrade (country Serbia and Montenegro), and I constantly get "City Info Not Availible".

I also cannot use Weather, in newest iMEDIAN HD :-( . When I add Belgrade as a city in Settings->Weather, and then go to a MainMenu->Weather - it say "Connecting", stays like that for a couple of tens of seconds, and then just return to a main menu.

My internet connection is working properly form that computer, so I assure you that internet conectivity is NOT a problem.

Is there solution for this ?

Nenad

I'd also like to know why you can't add custom cities. Most people don't live in the ones that are listed. Is this so hard to do?

If we can allow custom RSS feeds, why not custom cities for weather?

Dear Nenad,

Currently iMON displays the weather info of Belgrade, Zagreb and Skopje in my system.
Please check if this problem still happens.

If not, check the following below. Currently iMON checks this url for Belgrade.
http://weather.msn.com/RSS.aspx?wealocations=wc:YIXX0005&weadegreetype=C

Currently there is no option for add custom city in iMON Manager.
But you can manually add custom city with editing xml file.

C:\Documents and Settings\Logon Name\Application Data\SOUNDGRAPH\iMON\Weather\custom_city.xml in XP
C:\Users\Logon Name\AppData\Roaming\SOUNDGRAPH\iMON\Weather\custo m_city.xml in Vista and Windows 7.

Dear Johhny,

I've just checked URL above and it cannot be opened from any of my PCs (either @home or @work), which gave me idea that accessibility of this weather.msn.com is somehow limited to certain countries (ip addresees assigned to providers in certain countries).

Then I "googled" for some Malasian "open proxy", set it up in internet explorer, and then I can open URL above.

So, to summarize: If iMON Manager and iMEDIAN HD honor webproxy settings of internet explorer, then we, from countries not supported by weather.msn.com, have a WORKAROUND for this issue. Please confirm regarding honoring IE proxy settings !

Anyway, I believe, that weather info should be gathered from some globaly accessible weather service site, like www.weaher.com or www.accuweather.com or www.wunderground.com for example.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Nenad
