Joistick pad is bouncing

I have recently purchased a Luxa2 HTPC case with iMON. The joystick pad on the remote control is skipping several titles when I browse the Video Library. It seems to be very sensitive and hard to use. A single button press may result in 1 to 4 steps. I'm wondering if there is something like a de-bouncing constant which I can change in the software so that it will not sense a short button press.

The other buttons work fine.
