Hardware is disconnecting

I've been using the iMON remote and receiver for a while now, and it's always been a little flaky, but it seems to be getting worse. Every few days, the remote will simply stop working, and mousing over the iMON trayicon gives me the message "H/W is disconnected". I have to physically open the case, unplug and replug the USB connection to get it to recognise that it's actually attached. In all cases, the physical connection is solid.

OS: WinXP64 SP2
iMON Manager: v. 7.85.0222
iMON firmware: v. 0x3d
Remote: iMON Pad

Does anyone know how to stop this from happening, or should I just switch to a different remote?

Dear wintermute,

First of all, please try to connect iMON HW to other USB ports including the externals. And if possible, update main board BIOS and USB related drivers.
