Hi along time ago i posted a thread on the me and soundgraph forums on the 23rd of may and received no response so i posted a thread on here and received no response, i emailed the only email address i could find twice and on both accounts received no response, so i im going to post another thread and will continue to do so until i get some help. Once again this is my problem please can someone help me so i can get back to using what i found to be a superb product whilst it worked

along time ago i was editing my widgets/media files when my finger VU 706 froze, please note it was the monitor that froze not my computer or the finger UI software. Due to this i turned off the Displaylink via the toolbar button. even after doing this the monitor still stood in its frozen position (in the middle of editing). because the monitor still did not respond i restarted my computer. once my computer had restarted i extended the displaylink but no power was given to the VU, but my computer did recognize that there was a monitor where the VU should have been (i was able to print screen and see both my usual desktop and the finger Vu screen). so please can you help me to discover and fix the problem.

Thank you in advance

Dear jakedb,

We are really sorry to make you wait so long time without any response. I could not check this "FingerVU 436/706 forum" because there's no posts during long time. I now subscribed to this forum and will get an e-mail notification if there's new post/reply. Anyway, we are really sorry to make this kind of bad support.

Nothing shown on FingerVU as like power is not given to it, though the display adapter and DisplayLink service running and OS recognize second monitor. Please check the following things in order to sort out this problem.

FingerVU is supplied the power from USB bus power. Because USB bus can supply up to 500mA per port and FingerVU need more than that;
1) the USB Y-gender cable included in the FingerVU box is recommended to be used in order to supply enough power to FingerVU.
2) If you are using USB ports on the front chassis, please try to connect FingerVU to the USB port on the rear side. The front side USB port is connected to the internal USB port of motherboard through internal thin cable and it can make unexpected power related problem.
3) If there's update for the BIOS of your motherboard, please make up to date the BIOS. The USB bus power engaging process can be affected the BIOS.

Thanks and best regards,

hi

yes of course you can delete my cloned posts. i only created them so that i could get noticed because i was getting really frustrated that i could not use your product.

i have done all the things you mentioned and it still does not work. can you think of any other problems that may stop it from working and help me to fix it.

also i found that its not just on my computer i tried the product on two other computers and it does not work for them either.

thank you

Dear jakedb,

If all things I said did not sort out the problem and your FingerVU does not work on all 3 computers you have, your FingerVU might have something problem with hardware side. I think you need to have RMA process. If you purchased this product on our online shop, please contact to sales@soundgraph.com to get RMA. If you purchased it at other shop, please contact to the shop.

I'll delete all cloned posts of yours.

Thanks a lot,
