Hello,
I bought an Antec Micro Fusion Remote 350 case.
One week later, the LCD died. Then I add a new one thanks to Antec RMA.
Once installed, everything goes well at display level, but the remote control is no more detected; in iMon manager, the list is disabled so I cannot choose any type of remote.
Moreover, it seems that no IR device is detected in the Windows Device Manager.
In which section and with which name is supposed to appear the SoundGraph IR in the Windows Device Manager?
What could be the problem?
You may notice that the first time I received the LCD screen from Antec RMA, the plastic case around was not the good one. Probably for another Antec HTPC case. I called the RMA and they sent me the right plastic case. I unscrewed the LCD screen from the wrong one and screwed it to the good. I fitted the whole in my Micro Fusion Remote 350.

Dear Max,
If the connected iMON HW can work with only one remote, iMON makes “Remote Controller” selection in iMON Manager to be grayed out.
I think you received the different FW versioned HW with your original one.
Please let us know FW version and the remote control you want to use.
You can check FW version in iMON Manager>Options>Version/Update.

Dear Johnny,
More info on my config:
- iMon FW version is 0xa1
- iMon Manager is 7.63.0831
- OS is Seven 64 bits RC
(rem: you should change your copyright end date from 2008 to 2009...)
With my first screen, I was able to choose the type of remote control. With this one, not. You may also notice that the remote control does not work: so I guess not detected.
The model is the one given with the Antec Fusion Remote 350

It is a mini one (Veris RM100)
I really hope it is a firmware limitation due to a wrong version...
Waiting for your advice.
Best regards

Johnny,
Thinking your firmware version idea could be good, I had a phone call with a friend of mine who built at the time, the exact same config than mine.
In his case, the firmware version is 0x380102.
Very different than my 0xa1
Do you know how to obtain the 0x380102 firmware and how to flash it?
Is there a firmware extractor utility so my friend could give me his firmware?
Thx by advance
Max

Dear Max,
FW version 0xa1 doesn’t work with RM100 remote (MINI remote), but only with MCE remote.
You should contact with ANTEC and request the replacement again.
And regret to say, currently iMON HW doesn’t support FW update feature.

Thx Johnny for that.
Frankly, I will not send back my LCD to Antec => dont want to wait for at least 1 month again.
Nevertheless, I really don't understand why firmware is not upgradable.
It is the first device I ever had in my hand that do not assume this feature!
How can you manage bug fix?
How can you deliver new features to your customers in such condition?
I read in other post that this should be possible with additional hardware that is of course never provided by case manufacturer.
But why such a stategy? Firmware flash should be part of the basic features of the LCD screen. Like every other devices (Mother board, DVD, graphic card...) the upgrade process should be simple as run an exe and forget.
I am really desapointed

Dear Max,
I’m sorry for your inconvenience.
We’ll add FW update feature on newly developed HW.
And we will launch our new website and online shop in this month.
At this online shop, we will sell our retail products, ODM/OEM products and some accessories and we can ship to the overseas.

Dear Johnny,
Knowing that, I bought a mini diNovo from logitech. Perfect control of my media center and no need of the remote control.
Thx for all the info you gave ; interesting. I will probably make a tour once open.
To finish, my perfect HTPC screen vision:
- OLED for a best lisibility. Probably a bit expensive, but monochrome is doable.
- A single hardware with flashable firmware
- A single firmware manage by Soundgraph
- Tools to extract / flash firmware
- Tools for configuring some options by editing firmware, like the format of the hour displayed when the HTPC of off, managed remote ;-)...
Dear IMON Super Moderator, you can close this thread NOW.
Best regards
Max
