Hello all, I am new here, this is my system spec.
Thermaltake DH202 Touch screen case
GF8 100VM-M5 Motherboard with onboard vga graphics
AMD 9500 Quad Core 2200mhz cpu
2x 2gig 800 ddr ram
Pioneer Bluray 203 reader/writer
SAPPHIRE ULTIMATE HD 4650 1GB DDR2 PCI-E Graphics card with native hdmi
Panasonic plasma 42in tv connected to above grapics card via denon av amp
Windows 7 64bit rtm
1,Main problem: SG7 touchscreen connected to mother boards native vga. Bios is running in, both mode, starting mb 1st(although I get the same below problem when bios is set to pci x 1st)
On start up. The touch screen displays the message No Sync briefly, then continues to boot up ok. But sometimes displays message unsupported. Sometimes while pc is running the screen cuts out for 20 minutes or so, it also flashes on & off occasionally.
In w7 resolution settings it displays un reccomended resolution for the sg7 touch screen, but its set to the thermaltke reccomended 800x 600. Even if i change it to the rec w7 setting I stil get the no sync problem
Every thing seems fine on the Plasma display.
2, Imon/Imedhd
The imon manager does not display in full, parts of text missing etc.
Imed hd is very unstable, So I use Windows media center. Is there anyway to not use imon and use remote and hot keys / maybe setup windows 7 touch on the touch screen, without the awful imon software running?
I realise w7 is not yet fully suported. Also is it posible to set the remote for the comand windows buton+shift=left/right arrow? This is so I can swap screens without using keyboard.
Thermaltake tech support has been very poor regarding this and has told me to post my messgae here. I relly can not finish my htpc until this is sorted, I have spent a fortune on it:(.Im not in I.T. so please Answer in a simple manor.
Kind Regards
Peter

Dear Petdroo,
Thank you for using our iMON product. And I'm sorry for replying too lately.

I'd like to talk about 3 issues on it.
1. Extended mode.
Normally, there's two methods when using multiple monitor; One is "clone mode" and the other is "extended mode". In order to use iMON FrontView without problem, you need to set your multiple monitor environment with "extended mode". Please check it first. You could adjust this mode in Windows Control Panel > Display properties.
2. Refresh rate
If the problem continue even though you uses the "extended mode" and the resolution of 7" TouchLCD monitor is set 800x600, please check the monitor refresh rate. Normally 60Hz need to be used. You could adjust this value in Windows Control Panel > Display properties's advanced popup.
3. Using the VGA port on SAPPHIRE ULTIMATE HD 4650
Though I don't have any idea why you tried to connect 7" TouchLCD to the VGA port on motherboard, the multiple monitor feature with multiple VGA cards is not well supported by Windows. In order to confirm that kind of multiple monitor environment workinr properly, you could connect the standard monitor to the VGA port on motherboard.
Typically, multiple ports on single VGA card are used for multiple monitor setting. I know your SAPPHIRE ULTIMATE HD 4650 card has 3 video port; HDMI, DVI and D-Sub. You told you connected your plasma TV via HDMI. And there maybe DVI and D-Sub ports available on SAPPHIRE ULTIMATE HD 4650 card without connection. So, you need to try to connect 7" TouchLCD to the D-Sub port on the SAPPHIRE ULTIMATE HD 4650 card.
I realise w7 is not yet fully suported.
iMON Manager Software is used to manage the incoming IR signal and generate keyboard events and it also manage the touch data. There's no way to use remote and touch without iMON Manager Software. However, if you don't like to use the FrontView (the UI launched in 7" TouchLCD screen), you could disable it in iMON Manager > iMON Utilities > FrontView page.
Also is it posible to set the remote for the comand windows buton+shift=left/right arrow? This is so I can swap screens without using keyboard.
You could do it with Custom Command after setting. Please refer the following;
1. Open iMON Manager by double clicking the iMON system tray icon.
2. Locate "Settings > Custom Command" page.
3. Click [Add] button.
4. Input the function name. (For example, "Swap1")
5. Make shortcut windows button+shift+left arrow.
6. Assign the button on the remote.
7. Do again 4~6 for button+shift+right arrow.
If you push the button no remote assigned, the hotkeys will work.
If you have more questions, please post message here again.
Thanks and best regards,

Thank you for your reply. Here are my answers 1-3.
1, It is already in Extended mode, it sais so in the thermaltake & imon instructions.
2,It is already set to 60htz 800x600 resolution. It sais so in the thermaltake & imon instructions.
3, It is connected to the motherboards native vga because although the saphire card has a vga and is connected to the pci express correct, the back of the thermaltake case overlaps the vga slot making it impossible to connect the sg7 to the saphire, unless I cut the case, what I am not keen to do. Thermaltake should put a list of reccomended graphic cards and motherboards on there website, with native vga and hdmi. As people buy htpcs for home theater rooms. And will always use hdmi.
However I am sorry I am floating off the subject here.
I really do not think this is the problem as all works fine. I think it has a fawlty screen or power supply. As even if I disconect all screens and turn on the htpc I still get this no sync on start up.
Do you suggest I cut the case to try this?
Let me get it clear before I do your reccomendation: you want me to
Connect the SG7 vga to the saphire card?
Connect av amp to motherboard? ( There is no hdmi on mb,thats why i bought saphire)
How about I try connecting both saphire, but I am reluctant to cut the case.
Or maybe yo can reccoment the best graphic card with a native hdmi(not a dvi dongle) and can support two monitors. This will take time as I would have to send back saphire, etc.
I will try to solve other problems later that you answered kindly. This screen thing is very anoying and would like to solve this before the other no so important things.
Many thanks Peter

May I add I have also connected a Dell monitor to test if I can run 2 monitors.
Dell conected to mb vga
Tv to saphire hdmi
It ran fine with no problems.
However your screen on the thermaltake case stll said no sync on start up & flases up unsuported occasionally.
Please help! Do I send it back if so where? This was expensive.

Dear Petdroo,
Because this kind of multiple monitor setting (using 2 different video cards for each monitor) is not typical, we have not tested it yet. We need to check there can be any problem with this kind of setting. Could you please let me know you connected Dell monitor with 800x600 60Hz setting?
And if it can be possible to use D-Sub/DVI gender connector, please try to connect 7" TouchLCD to DVI port of your PCI-E graphic card's DVI port with the gender connector.
Thanks a lot,
slash.kim

I would have thought if each screen has a dedicated card it would be more efficient?
I tried the dell screen with both resolutions. Works fine. This is not a problem with Software.
I am not sure you understand correct, that’s why I would like at least a phone call?
The touch screen displays this; ‘NO SYNC’ even if there is nothing connected to its vga, and also displays ‘UNSUPPORTED’ on occasion. Maybe there is a power problem, as the screen also blanks out for long periods.
I do not have a dvi to vga dongle, but if you think this will solve the problem I could buy one?

Dear Peter,
Please wait for a while, we need to test it at our Test Lab. As you might know, the H/W configuration of yours is not standard. As you might know, we did not design the PC case and chassis. We still don't know why you cannot connect our VGA cable to your main display adaptor but we expect that there is some mechanical problems.
What I can tell you right now is that if your 2nd display adaptor could support 800*600 @60Hz, it should be worked as like the normal case.
We will check the test result at our Test Lab and talk with Thermaltake about this issue.
Thanks and regards...

It will not connect to the saphire cards vga because the thermaltake dh202 case over lapps the vga slot.Bad design!

The GF8 100VM-M5 Motherboard with onboard vga supports that basic resolution of 800x600. It would be so much easier if you call me!!!!

Dear Peter,
First, we do not design the Themaltake PC case. And second factor is that our speaking English is quite poor than our written English. And currently, we have no way to help you in this special condition. I address our opinion to Themaltake today and I am sorry about this.
Thanks...

Dear Sir
As I thought using both monitors through the one card has made no difference to the no sync problem. What do you suggest now? Please note I had to buy a part I do not now need.DVI - VGA adaptor.
I think maybe there is a power problem would a power problem show up as no sync? You make the screens, you must know what messages you program in to them??
Many thanks
Peter

Dear Peter,
I noticed Thermaltake that your case is unusual and we cannot solve your issue. We still cannot understand the mechanical issue you have with Thermaltake case but I think that you can try to connect it after you remove the case cover. If you cannot see the front view display if you use one display adaptor, it may be a issue of our product.
Thanks and regards...

I have now connected everything as you recommend, but I still have a NO SYNC message on your SG7 screen
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?????????????????????????????

Let me explain once more!
I have connected the sg7 and plasma tv to the saphire card, bios is now set to pci e only.
Windows 7 runs well, your imon runs, not sure about well..
I get message 'no sync' when i turn pc on, before test sequence and windows starts.
Once windows is running the screen goes off sometimes!!
I also get the screen message 'unsupported' on occasion.
It is all connected acording to imon instructions.
There must be a solution??

Dear Petdroo,
I get message 'no sync' when i turn pc on, before test sequence and windows starts.
Before boot-up test sequence the message 'no sync' shown is normal.
Once windows is running the screen goes off sometimes!!
When does it go off? Does it occur without depending on specific actions(for example, when you run full-screen game in your plasma tv)?
If this problem occurs independent on specific actions, it seems to be a problem with defect 7" LCD module or defect VGA cable connected on it.
If you are in this case, you might replace it into new one.
Thanks and best regards,

It goes off when pc is running, I do not play any games on the pc, just movies from hard drive.
As stated many times before, while pc is running I also sometimes get the message 'NO SYNC' and the message 'UNSUPORTED' and the screen blanks out for sometimes upto 20minutes. This can not be normal??
Before boot-up test sequence the message 'no sync' shown is normal.
Is it normal even if the vga cable is not connected? I still get this no sync message if the vga cable is not connected.
Please help:confused:

I do not beleave this. Do you read anything I write?? I HAVE TRIED CONEECTING IT HOW YOU RECCOMEND! i HAVE CONNECTED IT TO THE ONE GRAPHIC CARD. AND I GET THE SAME PROBLEM.
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS WHOLE THREAD AGAIN..
Dear slash.kim, would you consider looking over the problem posted by petdroo, because I have an identical problem. This is the problem of connectivity between hardware and drivers. I have a computer case, Moneual Lab MonCaso 972, with a 7'' touch screen. Before this, I used it with a motherboard DG45ID on OS Vista x86 without any problems. After I have upgraded my motherboard to a GA-E7AUM-DS2H, I'm having the same problem as Petdroo for 4 months now. It's not a mechanical imperfection, because while I install the OS, the screen works perfectly, without blinking, even if a stop the installation for several hours. For these several hours, the screen still works fine. After the installation OS Vista x86, but before the installation of drivers nForce7 the screen still works fine. But once I install drivers nForce7, the screen starts to blinck without warning and for a couple of minutes. It is also true for Service Pack 1 and 2. This problem is still persistent on Windows 7 but in a different form, because Windows 7 alread has in his distributive Chipset drivers. The blincking of display, already starts at the last stage of the installation process.
Once again, please check on this problem, because the case is very expansive, and doesn't let me comfortably use it.

Dear Vlad
Thank you for your support.
I think our problem is similar but slightly different. My sg7 screen displays no sync/ unsuported even without an operating system/drivers.
