View Full Version : Seek/Skip not working with latest version of Imon

Hi Guys,

I'm not too sure if this is an actual bug, as nobody else has posted about it so it could just be on my system

When watching TV, if I want to skip back, or skip forward (probably not the best term, but that's all I can think of at the moment!) using the remote nothing happens. I can rewind, or fast forward, but to get the same effect as skip I would need to press the key 4 times, which is cumbersome!

The system is running Windows 7, RC 7100 64bit, iMON/iMEDIAN HD Ver.7.60.0521 release (Setup), Silverstone LC16 Case

If I use the Microsoft wired keyboard, it works, so the system itself is fine, but the remote refuses to do it!

I know the remote and receiver etc works fine, because it works with Vista....

I'm guessing I need to modify something, to accommodate some change in Win7 x64, but I've had a look and a Google and can't find it.

If anyone has some suggestions, it would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Medianut :)

Hello,

I can confirm this bug; The skip buttons don't work at all during music, video or recorded TV playback. However note that they do work during DVD playback within W7 MCE.

FYI: I use the original MCE remote with iMon. I tried connecting the original Microsoft USB receiver (temporarily disabling iMon), and with that the skip funcion works OK.

I look forward to see this solved when the official iMon version is released end of September.

Apart from this, so far everything seems to be working OK in Win 7, which is great.

Perry

Dear All,

This problem is related with the following thread.
Please check it out about Skip/Replay. (Next/Previous)

http://htpcinside.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75

Currently iMON is using multimedia key event for controlling Media Center.
Please change key mapping for Next/Previous with the following keyboard shortcuts in iMON Manager>Settings>Program Command>XPMediaCenter.

TV Skip back (Previous) CTRL+B
TV Skip forward (Next) CTRL+F

Hey Johnny,

Just wanted to say thanks for the temp fix, it worked a treat. Will be good to see this fixed up in the next release. I did try searching, but obviously it was a bit off that day!

Cheers

This is to confirm that this is still a problem with the latest imon software (7.77.1022). However, the remapping workaround still works.

I've also observed that there is a similar problem with the Logitech DuNuovo mini, which suggests that Windows 7 Media Centre doesn't respond to the Previous and Next media keys but only CTRL-B/CTRL-F!

Dear Matthew,

We also checked that when Media Center plays video files, multimedia key (Previous and Next) doesn’t work.
But because some plug-in for Media Center work only with multimedia key, currently iMON internally check the situation that CTRL-B/CTRL-F is needed.
And we tested that it worked fine.
Please check again after assigning multimedia key (Previous and Next).

Mmmm, it now seems to be working. However, it definitely wasn't before (and I have a witness :) ) I'll keep it on the media button settings and report if problems occur again.
