View Full Version : iMEDIAN HD does not see DivX files
I have ripped the majority of my movie collection, so more than half are divx files. IMEDIAN HD seems to recognize every other video file, and I see that they advertise support of divx files, but I cannot watch a divx movie within IMEDIAN - it simply doesn't show up.
This is my IMEDIAN HD / IMON version:

as a side note, does anyone have divx working properly?

I got no problem with any files that i want to play on iMedian HD. I've tried XViD, DivX, MPEG, H.264...
Greetz
very strange. they don't even show up as a selection for me. I'll see if I can get a breakdown on all the file details so we can troubleshoot this better.

hopefully this clarifies things.
Your file that works, is not an .avi file is it?
as you can see, the file I am referring to is .divx file, indicating the divx container format is used, but also divx is the codec for the embedded video.
is this how your divx file is? or are you playing an avi file containing a divx codec and sound?
bump?
anyone got ideas?
imedian mod/admins?
nobody else has this problem? :(
playing a media file that utilizes the divx video codec embedded within the divx container format?
also, to further aid in troubleshooting,
I have no issue playing an a file using:
avi container format, containing
divx video codec
(for those not up to speed on container formats, this is an .avi file that contains a divx-encoded video along with some encoded sound).

Dear doja,
As you checked, currently iMEDIAN HD does not support “.divx” file but “.avi” file with divx codec.
We’re checking “.divx” file with iMEDIAN HD.
But I think “.divx” file also can be easily supported by iMEDIAN HD.
After check, I’ll let you know the result via this thread.

Dear doja,
We’ll add this issue to our “To Do List”. Please check it later.
It will be updated in next update.

Johnny Hur
Hi Johnny,
This is currently not listed in the "To Do List" anywhere for any release. You did say that "it will be updated in the next update", does this mean the very next release of iMedian will support playback of .divx files?
thanks

Dear doja
We'll revise "To Do List" with this month's update.
Divx issue is included in this update.
And we’ll try to revise "To Do List" more frequently.

Johnny Hur
