Silverstone LC20M Imon VFD not Displaying but IR remote is working correctly

Hi,

Here are my system specs
Case: Silverstone Lascala LC20M
Motherboard: Asus P7H55D-M-EVO
Imon VFD OEM F/W: x036 with Imon Pad
CPU: Core i5 750
Imon Software used initially was 7.85 working ok up until yesterday. upgraded to 7.86 beta but still no display.
Currently using 7.77 silverstone software from silverstone website.
OS: Win 7 x64 ultimate

i purchased my case 3 weeks ago and everything has been working a treat up until yesterday. it was even working properly under windows media centre.

my VFD display was displaying information , until i went into media centre last night and it promptly switched itself off.

i tried restarting the HTPC several times but it would not display any information.

i de installed the latest imon software and installed the 7.77 Silverstone software from the silverstone website and still no display.

i have ticked in the frontview option to display information always. and still nothing.

the imon manager circle is blue and the remote works fine. i can shut down, start up, switch tasks, increase volume etc etc. so the IR is still being received by the panel but only no display is showing up.

is there anything else i can do.?

Dear dizzyd,

First of all, please try AC reset (Remove AC power, wait 1~2 minutes and connect AC power again) and connect iMON to other USB ports including the externals.
And check if “Run FrontView When iMON Starts” option is set to “Automatically” and all “Turn On/Off FrontView” options are disabled.

thanks johhny. that did the trick. all is back to normal. i have updated to 7.85 now

altough when i updated to the 7.86 beta patch. there was a problem in frontview where i used auto mode and it cycled through the different categories until it came across the network status. al it did here was just go into an endless loop without starting back from the start . ie it just got stuck in the network status display.

i went back to 7.85 and all good again

Hi johhny

i having the same problems again where by the Frontview is not displaying at all.

i have tried numerous times to remove the ac and wait for 2 minutes then plug it back it. but it wont restart.

i have also installed the usb connections into a different slot but still nothing.

removed the imon software and reinstalled it again and still nothing.

anything else i can do.

it was working fine yesterday. but this morning it turned off by itself and it hasnt come back on since.

I’m sorry for your inconvenience.

Please let me know the followings.
1. In order to make VFD work again, does it need AC reset?
2. When it happens, is VFD changed from displaying text information to displaying nothing?
3. When it happens, please check with test program as follows.

1) Close iMON and run “iMONTest.exe”.
2) Press Knob and compare with pressing the remote button.
3) Click “VFD Display Test” button and click “Send On state” button.
4) Check if Text and EQ are working with send button.

I’m sorry for your inconvenience.

If it doesn’t turn on again with test program even after AC reset, it seems that there is some problem on HW itself. Please contact with Silverstone and request the replacement.
