View Full Version : iMON Manager (excessive?) handle over WMIPRVSE.EXE

Hey All,
I'm on XP SP3, always trying to keep the number of process to a minimum.

The process "wmiprvse.exe" is used to gather system informations.

With previous version of iMon Manager, the "wmiprvse" process auto-killed itself automatically after a few minutes because it was not needed for my usage of iMON.

But with the latest version of iMON Manager (update 7.63.0831), iMON is now forcing wmiprvse to run all the time :/

Although:
"iMON Utilities" > "Frontview" > "Auto Mode", "System information" is unchecked.
and
"iMON Utilities" > "Frontview" > "System Information", everything is unchecked (Memory Information, HDD Information, etc..)

So as far as I understand, there is NO need for wmiprvse.exe to be forced running all the time.

At least with previous version of iMON Manager it didn't...

Thanks for your support,

Alcahest

Dear Alcahest,

With the previous version, there was a problem on checking some CPU Load in Windows Vista and Windows7.
So we changed the method to check CPU Load with using WMI and it makes “wmiprvse.exe” run.

But I also think if System Information is not checked, there is no need to run “wmiprvse.exe”.
We’ll add it to our “To Do List”. Please check it later.
