View Full Version : Horrible Font and Time Format in LCD Firmware

I have an Antec Fusion Remote that features and LCD front display. When the system is shutdown, or restarting, the time is displayed presumably from some firmware in the LCD display itself. The time format is like: PM 7:01, and the font is some sort of futuristic OCR font--or at least what might have passed for "futuristic" in the 1970s.

(1) Can you please update the firmware so that the time format is "normal"? Is there any place in the world where the AM/PM tag comes *before* the actual time?

(2) Can you please update the firmware to use a legible font? Something along the lines of Tahoma 10 Bold would be a good choice.

I would like to have my HTPC powered off for about half of the day, but since the clock will be using power anyhow, I'd like it's output to be of some use. Thanks.

Edit to add: It looks like I'm not the only one (http://www.soundgraph.com/forums/showthread.php?t=762) that does not like the font.

I don't think that it is possible to update the firmware of the OEM LCD displays.

Dear Grawlix,

As you said, FW displays the time during off-state.
Regret to say, iMON LCD doesn’t have FW update feature. There is no way to change the font for off-state display.
But our FingerVU products support FW update and we’ll apply this feature to our future products.

Is there any way to disable the clock completely when the unit is off or in standby?

There is a setting in iMon to disable the display whenever FrontView is not running. Unfortunately this does not seem to apply when the system is in standby or completely shut down. This (http://www.soundgraph.com/forums/showthread.php?t=281) looks like a similar issue.

I agree that having this completely different display font and style enabled with no way to control or change it is very frustrating.

Dear tfliedho,

Please try to use “LCD Back Light When iMON Closed” in iMON Manager>iMON Utilities>FrontView>Common tab.

But in some systems there may be unstable power supply to LCD. If there is power reset on standby +5V connected to iMON LCD when PC is off or sleep mode, LCD may turn on the back light. Please check the following post. This user said his problem was related with HDMI connection.
