I have recently purchased a Zalman HD-503. This nice case features a iMon LCD, and everone who has ever seen it, knows it is the biggest crap ever sold:

- horrible, unreadable fonts when HTPC is switched off
- the backlight is far too bright

Anyway, I wondered if I can replace this LCD with the iMon VFD (which LOOKS nice on the website).

Can anyone advice on this idea?

Can someone who uses the VFD, tell me if it really looks as nice as the screenshots?

How is the font? Is the background black (in the LCD it is pink/cryan)

I can't see a reason, why you should not be able to change the LCD into the VFD.
The VFD is really nice. It's not to dark, and not to bright and it's really good to read. Even if Text is scrolling, the Display stays sharp. :)

The Color of the VFD is exactly the same as it is on the Photos here.
