I got this strange behaviour (which I never experienced using older MCE on XP and Vista):

F.Forward and Rewind are correctly working in Imedian
They also work correctly in win7 MCE when watching DVDs, TV recordings and TV streams (timeshifting).
They however are NOT working when watching video files (DivX,Xvid, etc)

I'm using a Tt Medialab but i have the same problem on a Aplus GL2
with Win7 Premium/Professional x64

I got this problem since I upgraded to Win7 no matter which
Imon release I use (tested from Oct09 beta to latest Feb10)

Any hint?
Thanx

Dear Tiboken,

For video files (Divx, Xvid and etc), is Windows MCE possible to make fast forward or rewind itself? As I know, MCE changes the playback speed with command of fast forward or rewind and typical Divx, Xvid source filter will not support this playback speed adjustment. Could you please make sure that the fast forward or rewind command work with mouse UI of MCE?

Thanks a lot,

I think things are getting clearer.
Yes, you are right, in Windows MCE F.Forward and Rewind works adjusting playback speed and it must be a matter of codec, since I accidentally found a file (just 1!) on which F.F (but not rewind) works this way (and it works). I have to investigate further on it.

A sort of Fast forward can be also accomplished using "Next Track" (it's a pain since I need to keep pressing the button on remote since it slowly forward, but it is better than nothing). This works the same as using mouse on UI (only very slowly and I think it is not configurable as in Imedian).
Strangely, F.F. (Next Track) works on my Aplus GL2 system (7x64 pro clean installed) but it doesn't on my other system (Tt Medialab FW 0x30 - 7x64 Premium). But since on this system I can't also go past Oct09beta or the remote stops working, I guess I'll try with a clean re-install of the whole system. Anyway, Forwarding and rewinding using "next/previous track" button could be enough for my needs.

Thanks for help, Kim
