I'm planning on purchasing either a Thermaltake DH102 or Thermaltake Luxa 2 LM300 case with the Soundgraph/iMEDIAN touchscreen and software and I have a few questions about ripping DVD's.

I'm hoping to use either DVD Shrink or DVDFab HD Decrypter to simply rip and save my DVD collection to a NAS in VideoTS/.vob format. Will the iMEDIAN softare recognize and work with this format? Is there a better way to rip DVD's? (I'd prefer to keep it in .vob format to retain quality and be able to make a backup in case the original disc ever gets damaged/lost/stolen etc).

Does the iMEDIAN software support some sort of metadata for movies? I'd like to be able to say view the cover image, have a movie synopsis, be able to sort movies by genre, title, actor etc. Does this sort of functionality exist in the iMEDIAN software or is there a compatible 3rd party plug-in that would work with it?

Thermaltake PurePower (500W, 12cm fan) Power Supply

I'm going to throw in an old Seagate 160Gb Sata HD until the OCZ SSD drive sizes and prices become a bit more realistic and I'll see how the onboard video works before upgrading and taking advantage of the Hybrid-SLI capabilities.

Well I just ordered the LM300 from the USA this morning so any input here would be welcome.

Thanks.

Dear aud19,

I'm hoping to use either DVD Shrink or DVDFab HD Decrypter to simply rip and save my DVD collection to a NAS in VideoTS/.vob format. Will the iMEDIAN softare recognize and work with this format? Is there a better way to rip DVD's? (I'd prefer to keep it in .vob format to retain quality and be able to make a backup in case the original disc ever gets damaged/lost/stolen etc).iMEDIAN HD supports “.ts”, “.tp”, “.vob” and “.ifo” file playback and can play DVD files in HDD.

Does the iMEDIAN software support some sort of metadata for movies? I'd like to be able to say view the cover image, have a movie synopsis, be able to sort movies by genre, title, actor etc. Does this sort of functionality exist in the iMEDIAN software or is there a compatible 3rd party plug-in that would work with it?iMEDIAN HD doesn’t support the metadata for video files.
But it can display thumbnail image for video file by placing image file in the same folder or pressing “Thumbnail” button on the remote while playing video file.

Johnny Hur

Thanks Johnny :) Good to know on both counts and I guess the thumbnail is better than nothing. Are there any plans to add metadata in a future update/version? Maybe it could be passed along?

Johnny

This, or something like it, added to iMEDIAN would be awesome:
