As you know, currently the DTSHD and TrueHD pass through are not supported.
We'll add this feature to our To Do List and make it possible in future release.

Not so easy! This would require a PAP licens (quite exspensive) and it also requires some protection level for the whole chain of devices forwarding these new soundformats. The only software fully compatible today are Arcsoft TMT and Cyberlink PowerDVD.

No, it wont! Only way to get the new soundformats from your htpc to your 7.1 HDMI 1.3 reciever would be buying an Asus Xonar HDAV1.3 or Auzen X-Fi HomeTheater 7.1 soundcard. Asus uses Arcsoft TMT compatible version for Xonar and Auzentech uses PowerDVD compatible version for X-Fi HomeTheater 7.1. AC3Filter would not make any difference, cuz it cant be used with these softwares as far as i know. Even if it was possible for AC3Filter to passthrough TrueHD etc. the software/hardware would not allow it for protection reasons.

As majstang said, currently a few soundcards and matched decoders support it. And so it will not be gotten easily.
We will check it is possible to use the decoder filters as external filter of iMEDIAN HD.

Just a quick note from a happy customer - PowerDVD9.0 with Auzentech X-Fi HomeTheater HD connected via HDMI to Marantz SR8002 (any HD-capable receiver will work) works perfectly for all HD audio formats.

I was sure there would be lots of problems to get it to work, but to my surprise it was just a case of plugging in the card, connecting two cables and everything works like a charm. Well worth the money!

Nice, when everything goes well the first try:) Especially when a lot of people reports about many problems (bugs and handshake related things). For those who are intrested there are rumors about the coming ATI 5xxx seies, will support TrueHD etc. Would be perfect cuz then we dont need to buy these really expensive standalone soundcards which seem to have many issues and more important also saving a PCI/PCI-e slot in our already crowded HTPC:s. Worth the wait for sure.

I use Xonar slimline and TMT3 to get bitstreamed HD audio. Its really a joke to put the letters "HD" next to median when it will not handle HD audio. But heck the motherboard manufacturers and graphics card makers do it so why not? I wouldnt waste my time waiting for median to get it, It probably never will. :rolleyes:
Frankly I am sick of products labelled "HD" that only do 1/2 of the HD format, the video portion.
