Imon (Antec Fusion Remote ) hardware defect?

Hello,
i bought a complete htpc with an Antec fusion remote case which also
includes veris remote control. See http://www.antec.com/Believe_it/product.php?id=NzE3
I tried out a lot of imon software versions (delivered cd, newest from Antec
homepage and also the newest from soundgraph which is VERSION 7.78.1125) on
2 different operation systems (Windows XP 32 bit and Windows 7 64 bit).
I have always the same behaviour. The LCD display is working properly but on
the remote control only 1 button works. It is the red button on the upper
right side which shuts down the pc.
The color of the ring is (on both operation systems) blue.
I also tried it with an MCE compatible remote control and there is the same
behaviour. I also tried different USB ports.
So i am sure the remote control is not the problem.
Do you have any diagnostic tool which can test the IR-receiver hardware? It
seems so that the pc does not get any "command" from the remote control.
The imon firmware version is: 0x380208
Do you have any ideas what is wrong?
If you have no idea i will send the htpc back to the vendor.

by the way. Power on does not work with the remote control.

I think almost have the same issue .. Altough power on works for me..
