Hi,

I have a legacy HTPC, which has the following components:

Athlon XP 2200 Processor,
Asrock KS741GX Mobo
Radeon AH3450 HD,
Windows 7 Ultimate x86 OS
iMedian October Release,

The problem is, I cannot get DXVA to work in iMedian HD, I tried the following:

I set the iMedian media splitter to Haali media splitter,
I tried using the Internal video decoder and also a standalone video filter from Media player classic home cinema. The result was, no media was playing, I only saw the first frame.

The only configuration that actually played the video was using the internal splitter and internal video decoder, but CPU usage was high with 1 FPS in HD mkv.

And various combinations of the above. I also set the renderer to EVR from EVR renderless.

The question is, can I even utilize the DXVA in iMedian HD, this same PC plays HD mkv in Media Player Classic Home Cinema without a problem.

Regards,
Simon

Dear simke,

The DxVA can be activated only when internal video decoder used. The setting Audio/Video > A/V Filter Control > Video Decoder > Internal Video Decoder Option > DxVA can not be applied to other decoder.

And for the other combination of external splitter and external decoder, we'll check the combination you mentioned. (Haali media splitter + standalone video filter from MPCHC).

And please make your iMEDIAN HD up to date. The media playback engine was updated in 7.78.1125.

Thanks and best regards,

Actually, it seems that DXVA is working. The problem is, that the player starts to play the file and continues to load it in the background. The playback is normal after approx 1 min, the system is unresponsive (very slow) during this 1 minute. Is there anyway to change this e.g. start playing when the file is fully loaded?

regards.
Simon
