Hello,
I have IMON runing on my Antec Fusion Remote hardware.
However I cannot find a solution for the display of XBMC information on the LCD screen.
I note a few attempts on the internet, such as "simon", but I cannot get anything working.
Does Soundgraph have a solution? Or are you going to provide soon?
Any help please.
Many Thanks,
PD

Dear pdeckert,
In order to display the media information of XBMC, XBMC should have the feature that send this information to the external application. Currently iMON can display the media information of iMEDIAN HD, Media Center, Winamp and iTunes. And iMON will support MediaPortal, MPC-HC. We’ll check if it is possible to display the media information of XBMC. If it is possible, we’ll add to our “To Do List”. Please check it later.

Hi,
I would also like native support for XBMC in iMON.
XBMC is in my opinion the best media center software right now, and there is a lot of people who would like to use it togheter with there iMON LCD/VFD.
Thanks'

yeah, xbmc support is a deal breaker for me, its flat out the best media center app out right now, I dont think it would be to hard to add support to it, xbmc is open source, its on source forge. add xbmc support and advertise it, then every one will be on them like fat kids eating cupcakes.

i too would very much like to see support for xbmc information on the frontpanel. and if you release an API, i'm sure the XBMC-community will do the rest.

I would really enjoy if there could be a way to get this feature.
As Imon harware is really good and Xbmc is a really good software, the union of both could be awesome, no ?

Hello Johnny,
I think the information you are expecting already exist (if users enabled the http server for localhost):
http://localhost/xbmcCmds/xbmcHttp?command=getcurrentlyplaying
much more info available here: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Web_Server_HTTP_API

Thanx Johnny,
I have downloaded the update and installed, and notice plenty of differences in the package, however, in the menu 'frontview-media information" it still does not have XBMC as an available option to me. Only option visible are " imedian, media center, winamp and itunes"
am i missing something here?

The latest Beta is 7.87.052. Under Frontview/Media Information, it lists 10 players. You can only select or unselect installed players. Under XBMC and MPC-HC you can also select the TCP port.

Have you enabled the webserver in XBMC settings (Settings -> Network -> Services -> Allow control of XBMC via HTTP)? But the only thing you'll get is the filename of the currently playing file anyway. That's (at least for me) not very useful as I normally know which movie I'm watching. But it's a start.

Hi!
Which information should be shown on the iMon FrontView with XBMC? Until now, with the iMon Manager Beta build it only shows the File Title but nothing else...
Is that what is supposed to be shown? Whats about the XBMC "Menu"? Can't iMon show where you navigate i.e. Music, Video, Settings or the the Folders?
Thanks for answering!

Yeah that's currently everything you will get (unfortunately).

XBMC does not provide the outside world with that kind of information. There is no way to know what exactly you are viewing right now in the XBMC skin.

Ok, at last now I know that it works as designed... But I think there is another way somehow.
Here: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?t=32797 is a file, (there is a new link on page four or so) with a little programm that shows the "navigation" but it doesn't work with every OEM Display because it seems that there are different mods... unfortunatley it doesn't work with my display. But the programm by iteself gathers more information i.e. Navigation and although the File currently playing.
Perhaps someone of you or Soundgraph can rewrite the Programm to every OEM Display, not only the one supportet version.

Happend to me as well. Go to the "Version / Update" section in iMon Manager and see if you really have 7.87.052. Because the link in the blog post of the latest beta release points to the wrong thread and therefore I downloaded the wrong beta release 7.85.0222 (one or two months old). The thread (with the correct download link) you are looking for is here: http://www.soundgraph.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5465

Dear PeteMac & muppet,
Last year we released update supporting XBMC information. Lots of users are using iMON with XBMC. That time the latest version of XBMC was using HTTP API for sending information to the externals.
Currently iMON Manager can display media information of XBMC using HTTP API but we didn’t check with XBMC using JSON-RPC instead of HTTP API. And we released iMON Display API last year and we recommend that 3rd party developers make their application display it directly with iMON Display API.
If you have any other features or problems related with XBMC, please let me know it.

Johnny Hur
