Hi,

Silverstone LC16-M & iPAD Remote
Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H
Powercolour HD4670 1GB
AMD X2 4200
Adata2GB DDR800
WD 750GB +1500GB
HVR 2200

iMON 1.78.1125
Windows XP Pro SP3

If i move the mouse around the screen with frontview disabled then it is very smooth and responsive. If I open imon and enable frontview then the mouse becomes laggy and is intermittently unresponsive with intermittent pauses. I have tried changing the process priority of imon.exe to 'high', but this does not help. This is without any other software running (ie just windows desktop and imon)

What can be done to fix this? ; obviously I would like to have frontview enabled because that is why I paid so much for this HTPC case.

I tried an older version of imon (7.20.0502) and the problem exists in that version too, although not nearly as bad.

Actually I seem to get intermittent unresponsiveness without frontview running as well, but it seems to be worse when front view is running.

Dear kiwijunglist,

Do you mean mouse action with PAD button? Please let me know the followings.
1. FW version. You can check FW version in iMON Manager>Options>Version/Update.
2. How about after setting “IR signal Indicator on desktop” option to “Don’t show”?
3. When using PAD button, how much of CPU load does iMON consume?

Do you mean mouse action with PAD button?

All buttons become unresponsive, however it's easiest to test this by just moving the mouse around. All buttons become unresponsive for anywhere from 1 sec to 10 sec. Sometimes I have to press the button lots of times to get a signal through. And sometimes it runs perfectly.

1. FW version. You can check FW version in iMON Manager>Options>Version/Update.

iMON Firmware ver 0x80

2. How about after setting “IR signal Indicator on desktop” option to “Don’t show”?

Setting IR singal indicator to do not show does not solve the problem.
Disabling Sound with IR Signal also does not help.

3. When using PAD button, how much of CPU load does iMON consume?

iMON CPU useage is always ~0%
CPU useage of any processes (in Task Manager) does not change during periods of unresponsiveness

Also: Fresh batteries does not help. The IR receiver is not in the sun light.

It seems that switching frontview on then back to off in imon manger, sometimes gets the remote control working again.

Dear kiwijunglist,

I’m sorry for my late reply.

If you’re using iMON under the noise condition, the remote may not work properly. Please check again after turning off room light and removing devices using IR signals. And please open your chassis and check if IR receiving element is bent or cut. The IR element is placed on the right of iMON HW module in front of the chassis.
