Hello,

I hope this is the right place to post my problem.

I use a 3R Systems HT-1100 HTPC case with OEM iMON VFD. Now I replaced my old mainborad with a new one that uses an external power supply which means that I can no longer use the 24/4pin Power Ext cable.

Now I am wondering what kind of plug the 4pin cable that is diverted of it is exactly? 5V or 12V? Is it the same as for a floppy?

Help would be much appreciated as I can't use the display right now.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Cheers,

Thorsten

It seems my question was answered already in this forum :)

Haven't tried this workaround yet but will do so later today. Kind of strange though that they decided to use this pretty complex adpater instead of a more common one that splits a standard Molex?

(I know that's an old message but the following info might help people looking for that kind of info like I was when I came here...)

That's actually not that strange considering that this cable also provides +5V Standby which is only available on the ATX power connector.

red is +5V
black is ground
purple is +5V standby

+5V Standby is available even if the power is off (as long as it's not disconnected from the wall or turned off on the switch behind the power supply) and is used, AFAIK, so that the PC can be turned ON and OFF by IR.

Have a nice day!
