Hello,

I have a Zalman HD160XT Plus case. The problem is that even is the LCD is working properly, the TouchScreen and Remote controller is not working. The only button that works from the remote is the power button.
I think there is a hardware problem with the USB controller. When i plug in the USB cable, the system says "USB device not recognized". I tried it with Windows 7 64Bit, Windows Vista 32/64Bit and Windows XP 32Bit editions and all reports the same problem. I also connected the USB cable to my laptop with XP 32bit and i got the same error.
I was thinking that maybe the motherboard is not supplying enough power to the USB ports and I tried to connect the USB cable to an USB Hub with external power, but it didn't worked (got the same error).
What I observed when I connected the USB port to the USB Hub, was that the led on the Hub for the connected USB port is blinking 3 times and after that is going off and the computer is reporting "USB device not recognized". Normally the led should be on when a device is connected to that port.
I also tried to force drived installation, but even so, the device is showing with yellow exclamation sign in Device Manager.
Is there anything else that i should try or should i send the case back for warranty?

Thank you and best regards,
Razvan Resteantu

Dear Razvan,

I’m sorry for your inconvenience.

If “Unknown Device” is iMON HW, it means that there might be a problem on USB controller or USB cable. I think you have to replace it. Please contact with Zalman and request the replacement.

I am having the exact same problem. Did you contact Zalman and if so, did you get any reply? Thanks!

Hi I have exactly the same problem but with ThermalTake DH104. I made the same experiments and it is always the same "Unknown Device" problem. Updated the chipset drivers, tried connecting to my laptop.... nothing.

Any progress????

It turned out to be faulty cable. I had to play with the connector at the display side a little bit and it worked. I cannot believe I spent 700 EUR on a case that had faulty cable!!!!!

I think the cable was not provided by ThermalTake bur rather by SoundGraph....

SoundGraph get better quality control!!!!

I reinstalled ubuntu 9.10 and the touchscreen worked without any additional setup. I had re-seated all my cables when I was first having problems, and didn't think this had helped. Apparently it did. Still, knob and front panel aren't working. Anyone able to get all parts to work in linux? (all parts = panel, knob, touch screen and remote)
