My computer configuration are as follows:
Casing: AOpen HT80 with iMON OEM (LCD) and Remote control
Motherboard: JW-RS780UVD-AM2+ (128M)
TV-tuner: Galaxy E7 Media-Plus DMB-TH (with TotalMedia 3.5)
Windows Xp Professional Sp3
This computer serves my living room for HTPC propose. I have just update iMEDIAN HD from 7.20.0502 to 7.60.0521.
Here are the problems:
1. It cannot recognize .rmvb files. I have tried to set in "setting", but I cannot find anything related to this codec.
2. Although it mentioned to support .m2ts files, it produce very poor quality video with 780G hardware decoder from ATI chipset. I cannot use it to see my AVCHD video as there are plenty of horizontal strips with time lags in each strips. However, I can use some other free software to play these files, e.g. Pure Codec Player. I have been trying to avoid install these codec before I really need them.
3. I have set TotalMedia as iMon default TV. When I press the TV button, it just starts the TotalMedia program. Can this program directly call Totalmedia --> TV part instead? I wish not to choose which part to go when I starts totalmedia.
4. The power button of the iMon remote cannot shut down the computer, although it is clearly defined in iMon control manager. Is there a problem with the motherboard? I have to press the power button to close down or software power down from Windows.
5. The remote control cannot detect signal easily. It seems I have to head down to more than 30 degree from the direction of the remote to signal receiver so that it receive the signal.

Please advice. Thanks.

Dear s_c,

I'll answer one by one.

1. It cannot recognize .rmvb files. I have tried to set in "setting", but I cannot find anything related to this codec.
In order to recognize .rmvb or real media files, it is needed to install real media codec on your system because iMEDIAN HD does not support internal real media codec. After you install the real player or RealAlternative codec and scan video in iMEDIAN HD again, you could get the .rmvb files scanned in media library and play them.

The decoding performance for ACV(or H.264) of ATI 780G's DxVA shows not good. However, if your system's CPU power is good, please try disabling DxVA.
DxVA can be disabled in iMEDIAN HD's "Settings > Audio/Video > A/V Filter Control > Video Decoder > Internal Video Decoder Option > DxVA" page.
And if this disabling of DxVA could not solve the problem, you need to install high performance decoder for AVCHD and assign the external decoder for AVC.
For more information about setting the codec, please refer the FAQ at the following link; http://htpcinside.com/forums/faq.php?faq=sg_sw_imedianhd#faq_sg_faq_sw_imedianh d_codec

3. I have set TotalMedia as iMon default TV. When I press the TV button, it just starts the TotalMedia program. Can this program directly call Totalmedia --> TV part instead? I wish not to choose which part to go when I starts totalmedia.
For this question, I could not understand exactly what you'd like to do. Could you please explain more in detail?

4. The power button of the iMon remote cannot shut down the computer, although it is clearly defined in iMon control manager. Is there a problem with the motherboard? I have to press the power button to close down or software power down from Windows.
Please check the iMON Manager's setting. In iMON Manager > Settings > Windows Command > Power Management Command page, which function is mapped with 'Power' button on the remote? Please assign the "Power" button on remote to "Turn Off" function.

5. The remote control cannot detect signal easily. It seems I have to head down to more than 30 degree from the direction of the remote to signal receiver so that it receive the signal.
Does this problem occur even when you use remote control in short distance? Is there no interference between remote control and the IR receiver? Please let us know more in detail about the circumstance.

Thanks a lot,

Thanks. I can go through 1 and 4 without a problem now.

As for 2, the AVCHD problem, actually, I can play the AVC on Window's Media Player without load and shows no horizontal strips things. It plays as if it is a normal video file. But this is not the case in iMedian HD. If I change the internal decoder to other decoder. It loads 100% CPU usage but the video becomes clear.

For 3, TotalMedia is capable to play video and TV. So, when enter you have to choose TV mode or Video mode. I just like to ask if I can skip this screen into TV mode directly.

I have attached a direct X fact sheet on my computer. Please see if there are anything I can work on for the AVCHD problem. Thank you!

Dear s_c,

If you don't have playback AVCHD in Windows Media Player, try to select "system default codec" for AVC codec referring the FAQ (http://htpcinside.com/forums/faq.php?faq=sg_faq_sw_imedianhd_codec#faq_sg_faq_s w_imedianhd_codec_dc)

And for the TotalMedia's direct enter to TV mode, there's no way to go into TV mode directly.

Thanks a lot,
