Antec Fusion VFD quick question

Hi Folks,
I have just received ( from a friend of a friend) an Antec Fusion Remote black case with the included VFD. I've built my HTPC with this case but the VFD display does not turn on.
My quick silly questions.
Do you have to have the 3pin connector plugged in AND the USB plugged in for the VFD to work?
What happens when I only have the USB plugged in?
What does the 3pin connector power up? What does the USB power up?

Dear Razz,

1. Yes you need to connect 3Pin connector and USB plugged in for VFD to work.
2. Nothing happens only USB is connected.
3. 3Pin connector supply power to the whole unit. USB does not power up anything.
